Down Cut router bits are commonly used in finishing process, such as mobile phone’s keypad processing, plate processing, liquid crystal display panel, acrylic lenses, etc. With this method, the cutting force is downward, so the workpiece isn't lifted up and isn't easily displaced. Furthermore, chip removal from the machined surface is also capable of reducing cutting edge wear and reducing burrs on the machined surface.
