''This Speed Tiger router bit is a very standard unit with two straight flutes and an inch of cutting edge. It is also sharpened flat across the cutting end for plunge work and grooving, and has a one inch plus shank to fit into the collet. I, like some other reviewers, have always backed my bits out an eighth inch or so from dead end, as I was told they always ran truer that way...but when I finally splurged for a DeWalt BHR (Big Heavy Router) the accompanying data said to push it all the way in and lock it there. Feeling somewhat daring that day, I did just that. Nothing happened...it ran just fine. So now I'm much more laid back and sleep better at night knowing I have more choices in life than I had yesterday.
This is a fine little router bit made from solid carbide and should last a very long time...it can be sharpened many times more than inserted carbide bits. It is very sharp and with a nice, even feed does very smooth work in a variety of woods. I had no really hard wood to try it on but it made a pretty nice groove in damp cedar, which often has a tendency to leave fuzzy, stringy cuts.
I expect this bit to last for a long time and would, on the basis of what I have seen so far, recommend it for most all regular woodshop use.''

'' Surpassed my expectations. You can tell a bit about a product based on the small stuff: The laser etching brand name, the quality of the packaging and even the printing. All these raised my expectations a bit, but the real test in hard wood told me that it wasn't just brand management, but real quality. I'll have this bit for a while if I take care of it. ''The performs great, it is not the highest quality router bit you can buy, and could be damaged by overheating if you abuse it, but for the price point, this is a great value and I'm happy with the performance.Recommended.''
